1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Kitaabey, you accept and agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to abide by the above, please do not use this service. Please review these terms periodically, as continued use constitutes acceptance of any updates or changes.

2. Use License

Kitaabey grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the platform solely for personal, non-commercial book exchange purposes. Under this limited permission you may not:

  • Modify or copy the materials
  • Use the materials for any commercial purpose or for any public display
  • Attempt to reverse engineer any software contained on Kitaabey's website
  • Remove any copyright or other proprietary notations from the materials

3. User Accounts

Users must provide accurate and complete registration information and are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their account credentials. Notify Kitaabey immediately of any unauthorized account use.

You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree not to disclose your password to any third party.

4. Book Exchange Guidelines

You agree to provide honest and accurate information about your listed books and to honor exchange commitments in a respectful manner. Kitaabey acts solely as an intermediary community platform to facilitate exchange services between two users without any fees and does not guarantee the condition, delivery, or quality of exchanged books. Disputes should be reported promptly via designated channels and Kitaabey may look into those disputes and take required measures as that may need.

Ensure you clarify all your doubts from book owner before you finalize the book for exchange purpose and Kitaabey will not be responsible in any way for any damaged or loss to any of the registered users because of this exchange transaction.

5. Book Points System

Kitaabey operates a virtual points system intended solely for facilitating book exchanges. Points have no monetary value and are non-transferable. Kitaabey reserves the right to modify or terminate the points system at any time, with notification. Upon termination of your account or the service, points will be forfeited without compensation.

6. Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any illegal purpose
  • Violate any laws in your jurisdiction
  • Infringe upon the rights of others
  • Transmit any worms or viruses or any code of a destructive nature
  • Harass, abuse, or harm other users
  • Spam or send unsolicited messages
  • Misuse of ads or phishing attempts

7. Prohibited Content Policy

To maintain a healthy, legal, and safe book exchange community, listings in the categories below are strictly prohibited. Kitaabey may remove such listings without notice and may suspend or terminate related accounts for repeated or severe violations.

7.1 Illegal and Infringing Content

  • Counterfeit or pirated copies, including photocopied editions, unauthorized prints, and unauthorized digital copies (PDF/EPUB).
  • Stolen property, including books marked as property of a library or school district unless clearly marked as withdrawn or sold.
  • Advance Review Copies (ARCs) or similar editions labeled not for resale.
  • Banned or unlawful documents that are prohibited in applicable jurisdictions.

7.2 Hate Speech and Extremism

  • Books or materials advocating violence, hatred, or dehumanization based on protected characteristics.
  • Propaganda for proscribed terrorist organizations, extremist groups, or violent cults.
  • Content that promotes denial of well-documented historical atrocities.

7.3 Ethical and Age-Inappropriate Content

  • Explicit adult material, including hardcore pornography and highly graphic sexual content.
  • Medical misinformation promoting dangerous, unscientific cures or public-health-risk claims.
  • Scam-oriented or deceptive materials, including MLM and get-rich-quick promotional content disguised as books.

7.4 Quality and Physical Condition (Unusable Rule)

  • Books damaged beyond use, including missing pages, heavy water damage, mold risk, or unreadable markings.
  • Disposable or exhausted materials, such as completed puzzle books, fully colored books, or expired study guides.
  • Free promotional materials, including catalogues, appliance manuals, or free tracts listed for points.

Users are responsible for ensuring listings comply with this policy and all applicable laws. If you encounter prohibited content, report it through Kitaabey support channels.

8. Disclaimer

The materials on Kitaabey's website are provided on an 'as is' basis. Kitaabey makes no warranties, expressed or implied, and hereby disclaims and negates all other warranties including without limitation, implied warranties or conditions of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement of intellectual property or other violation of rights.

9. Limitations

In no event shall Kitaabey or its suppliers be liable for any damages (including, without limitation, damages for loss of data or profit, or due to business interruption) arising out of the use or inability to use the materials on Kitaabey's website, even if Kitaabey or a Kitaabey authorized representative has been notified orally or in writing of the possibility of such damage.

10. Termination

Kitaabey may suspend or terminate accounts and bar access to the service immediately, without prior notice or liability, under our sole discretion, for any reason whatsoever and without limitation, including but not limited to a breach of the Terms for violations, inactivity, or other reasons. Termination results in forfeiture of all earned points.

11. Advertising and Monetization

While currently free, Kitaabey may display advertisements, including third-party ads such as Google Ads, to support platform operations. By using the platform, users consent to the display of such ads. Kitaabey does not endorse these advertisements and is not responsible for any third-party content or claims.

12. Changes to Terms

Kitaabey reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or site notifications at least 30 days prior to implementation.
